Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to what founders ask us most.
Do I need a local Saudi partner?
No. Under the new MISA regulations, foreign investors can own 100% of their business in most sectors without a local partner.
How long does the process take?
Our recent registrations took about 45 to 60 working days from the first documents to the Commercial Registration, and the MISA approval step took about two weeks. These are ranges from our recent files, not promises.
What is the minimum capital requirement?
Minimum capital requirements vary by activity; many service licenses have no minimum capital requirement.
Can I get residency for my family?
Yes, as a business owner or GM, you are eligible for family sponsorship.
What documents do I need from my home country?
For a service license you need a parent company that is at least one year old. For a trading license you need that parent company and two supporting companies. We review your papers first. Your audited financial statement for the last fiscal year must be apostilled, and partners' educational certificates must be attested by the Saudi Embassy for the visa endorsement.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. We take no upfront payment for our service. You pay 50% when your MISA license is approved and 50% when your Commercial Registration is issued. Before that, only your parent company's own set-up expenses apply, and they vary by case.
Do I need to travel to Saudi Arabia?
Signing is done in person. If you cannot come, you can give a Power of Attorney in the name of Apex Arabia so we can complete the signing for you.
Do I have to show my investment money in a bank, and what tax will I pay?
No, you do not need to show the investment in a bank. For a company fully owned by foreign investors, the MISA license holder pays 20% corporate tax on net profit after deducting expenses. For example, on a profit of SAR 100,000 the corporate tax is SAR 20,000. Zakat rules differ if a Saudi or GCC partner owns part of the company, so check your own case with a tax adviser.
Which documents most often delay an application?
Name mismatch. Your name must be written the same way on all your papers, and it must appear on both the Memorandum of Association and the Articles of Association.
